Mamma Diggs means business.
During the Monday night clash between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets, wide receiver Stefon Diggs had his mother, Stephanie Diggs, passionately advocating for him in the stands.
Stephanie Diggs is not one to sit idly by while an opponent gets physical with her son, and she made sure Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner knew it during the thrilling 22-16 matchup. She vocally expressed her disapproval, urging Gardner to stop his physical tactics against her son.
Stephanie didn’t miss the chance to gloat when her son, Stefon, caught a touchdown pass in the first half. This touchdown not only contributed to a thrilling game but also elevated quarterback Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs to become the second-most prolific QB-WR pairing in the history of the sport. With their 30th regular-season touchdown connection, Allen and Diggs now trail only the legendary duo of Jim Kelly and Andre Reed in this regard.
Unfortunately for the Diggs family, the Bills relinquished their lead in the fourth quarter, allowing the Jets to tie the game and force overtime. Ultimately, the Jets secured a remarkable win with a punt return by rookie Xavier Gipson.
The Bills were initially favored, particularly after Aaron Rodgers was ruled out due to injury, leaving Zach Wilson to step in as the Jets’ starting quarterback in the wake of Rodgers’ Achilles injury. The young quarterback, however, held his own and positively influenced the game’s outcome.
On the flip side, Allen had one of the most challenging games of his career, surrendering possession on four occasions.
