Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver for the Houston Texans, is causing some rifts with his former fan base.
Recently, Diggs drew attention when he endorsed a post on social media criticizing Buffalo Bills fans as being among the “worst fanbase” and labeled them as “bitter.” The post, which Diggs liked, highlighted negative comments from Bills fans on a thread where Diggs had expressed condolences for the late Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis.
This seemingly minor social media activity didn’t go unnoticed, particularly by members of the Bills Mafia, some of whom strongly disapproved of Diggs’ apparent criticism of his former supporters.
The tension between Diggs and Bills fans isn’t entirely surprising given the circumstances leading up to his departure from Buffalo earlier this month.
While Diggs had a successful four-year tenure with the Bills, earning Pro Bowl honors and consistently surpassing 1,000 receiving yards each season, his final year with the team was marked by a decline in performance. Despite starting the 2023 season with impressive stats, Diggs failed to reach 100 receiving yards in any game for the remainder of the season.
Reports of a disagreement between Diggs and Bills quarterback Josh Allen early in the season may have contributed to the strained relationship, ultimately resulting in Diggs’ trade to the Texans.
