Stefon Diggs may be sidelined after a season-ending ACL injury, but the star wide receiver is finding new ways to stay connected to the game—and his fans. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 31-year-old Houston Texans receiver opened up about his new partnership with Domino’s and his ongoing journey of adaptation, recovery, and reflection.
Serving Fans, Even Off the Field
Diggs is teaming up with Domino’s for a unique promotion aimed at fantasy football fans, offering free pizza to those who had him on their rosters this season. It’s his way of giving back to the dedicated fans who support him, even when he’s unable to rack up points on the field.
“It’s just a great thing for me to be involved in,” Diggs shared. “Fantasy football is pretty serious, and this is a way to give people something positive, even though I’m not out there playing.”
Fantasy football enthusiasts can claim their free “emergency pizza” by proving Diggs was on their team, a playful nod to how seriously fans take their stats and points.
“If you know anything about fantasy football, people talk a lot of junk if you’re not producing,” he added with a laugh. “This is a great opportunity to give back and let people know I appreciate them sticking with me.”

A New Chapter in Houston
Before his injury, Diggs was thriving in his new role with the Texans. The transition from Buffalo to Houston was smoother than expected, thanks in part to the camaraderie he found with his teammates, including standout rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.
“You have to understand, even before officially joining the Texans, I threw with C.J. and some of my teammates. It felt like I’d known them my whole life,” Diggs recalled. “We just clicked immediately. It felt like brothers. Every day I woke up in Houston, I was happy—smiling, even with the heat. I just felt blessed to be there.”
Adjusting to life in Houston also brought some unique experiences, including being “dragged” by Stroud to Bible study, a testament to the deeper bonds within the team.
“It’s more layers to this than you’d expect,” Diggs said. “It’s bigger than football.”
Reflections on Buffalo and Beyond
While Diggs is focused on his current journey, he took time to reflect on his years in Buffalo, where he became one of the league’s premier receivers. Over four seasons, he racked up 37 touchdowns and 5,372 receiving yards, forming a dynamic partnership with quarterback Josh Allen.
“My time in Buffalo was special. I had some hell of a seasons, and I’ll never forget them,” Diggs said. “I always want everyone to do well—except when they’re playing against me. But I look back at Buffalo with a lot of love.”
As a free agent this coming offseason, Diggs’ future with the Texans remains uncertain. Despite the questions ahead, he’s embracing the present and the connections he’s built both on and off the field.
“I navigate through life with a lot of love, no matter what people say or how things happen around me,” he reflected. “It’s all about moving forward and appreciating the journey.”
Recovery and Resilience
After tearing his ACL during a late October game against the Indianapolis Colts, Diggs has faced the emotional and physical challenges of recovery head-on. While devastating, the injury has been a reminder of his resilience, honed through past setbacks in college.
“It was a whirlwind of emotions when I got hurt,” Diggs admitted. “But I’ve been through this before, and I’m prepared for the rehab. I still think I’m like Wolverine—invincible.”
Despite the setback, Diggs remains optimistic and committed to his recovery, fueled by the unwavering support of his teammates, family, and fans.
A Heart Full of Gratitude
As Diggs continues his journey in Houston, he’s grateful for the relationships he’s built and the opportunities he’s had to impact fans both on and off the field. Whether it’s delivering pizza to fantasy football enthusiasts or creating unforgettable moments with his teammates, Diggs is making the most of every step—even during this challenging time.
“This team is full of good guys who hold each other accountable, and that’s where I want to be,” Diggs said. “It’s been a blessing, and I’m excited for what’s next.”
For now, the star receiver is focused on healing, staying connected to his fans, and cherishing the moments that make the game—and life—so special.
