The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly not hesitating when it comes to making decisions about Russell Wilson’s contract.
Wilson, who inked a one-year deal with the Steelers this offseason, is anticipated to serve as the long-term solution at quarterback for Mike Tomlin’s team.
Reports suggest that Pittsburgh intends to negotiate a new contract with Wilson for the post-2024 season, aiming for a longer-term agreement following the current year.

“Russell Wilson signed a one-year contract with the Steelers for the vet minimum because the Broncos were paying him $39 million in 2024. But Wilson and the Steelers intend to do a longer deal at the end of the season, per sources,” Gerry Dulac reported.
With the Broncos still bearing the brunt of Wilson’s contract for 2024, the Steelers were able to secure his services with a cost-effective one-year deal for the current season.
It appears that Pittsburgh is committed to Wilson for the foreseeable future. Their offseason quarterback maneuvers, including the acquisition of Wilson and a trade for Chicago Bears’ quarterback Justin Fields, underscore their determination to solidify the position.
As the Steelers gear up for the 2024 regular season following a Wild Card round loss to the Bills, they have significantly reshaped their quarterback room for the challenges ahead.
