Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim Valente may have publicly stated they began dating in June 2023, but Tom Brady reportedly holds a different perspective.
Sources close to Tom revealed to TMZ that the retired quarterback believes Gisele and Joaquim’s romantic involvement began much earlier. According to one source, “They should add 2021 after June. Then the headline would be accurate.”
Contrarily, Gisele’s representatives informed People magazine that the pair officially started dating in June and are proceeding with caution, having initially cultivated a strong friendship.
According to the exclusive source, she “loves that he is Brazilian” like her.
“They come from similar backgrounds. They both left Brazil very young. They have both created amazing lives for themselves in the U.S. They both love Miami, but also enjoy traveling. They both enjoy healthy living. Gisele’s in a great space. She is happy and very much enjoying life. Joaquim is perfect for her,” the insider tells PEOPLE.
Despite the timing of their romantic involvement, it’s well-known that Gisele, Tom, and Joaquim have shared connections for years. Their children have taken jiu-jitsu lessons from Joaquim, and Gisele herself has trained with him.
Following Tom and Gisele’s separation, Gisele and Joaquim have been spotted together in various locations, including Costa Rica and Miami. Notably, during Gisele’s two-month stay in Costa Rica post-divorce announcement in October 2022, Joaquim accompanied her, emphasizing her commitment to her jiu-jitsu training.
Tom, meanwhile, has been in an on-and-off relationship with supermodel Irina Shayk since last summer, indicating he has moved forward. The former couple shares joint custody of their children.
