Travis Kelce is expanding his horizons by stepping into the role of a game show host, and he’s taking on a classic with a twist.
A source close to the situation revealed to PEOPLE that the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player is set to lead a new game show series, putting a fresh spin on a beloved concept.
As previously reported by Variety and PEOPLE, Kelce will helm a reboot of the iconic game show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?, which first aired on Fox in 2007. However, there’s a unique twist in this revamped version: instead of young contestants, celebrities will take center stage.
With production already underway, Kelce’s extended stay in Los Angeles can be attributed to filming commitments for the show, according to the insider.
Dubbed Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, the series is slated to air on Prime Video, although Amazon has yet to respond to requests for comment.
This venture into hosting isn’t Kelce’s first foray into television. He previously took the stage as the host of Saturday Night Live in March 2023, and notably starred in the reality dating show Catching Kelce on E! back in 2016.

Additionally, Kelce has recently added “producer” to his repertoire, contributing to two film projects. His debut production, My Dead Friend Zoe, premiered at SXSW earlier this March, while King Pleasure, a documentary on Jean-Michel Basquiat, is set to begin filming this summer.
Since clinching his second Super Bowl victory in February, Kelce has been frequently spotted in Los Angeles alongside his girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, 34. The pair have been enjoying downtime in the city, with Kelce taking advantage of his offseason break from football and Swift on hiatus from her Eras Tour.
In a recent interview, Kelce hinted at the possibility of attending the Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif., expressing his love for live music and the event’s vibrant atmosphere.
Looking ahead, Kelce has his sights set on a potential Hollywood career post-NFL retirement. Reflecting on his SNL hosting gig, he shared his newfound appreciation for scripted comedy and the entertainment industry, indicating a promising future beyond the football field.
