R.J. Hampton is about to become a father for the first time, but currently he’s looking to land with another team.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, R.J. Hampton, a 22-year-old guard, became a free agent this summer.
The Detroit Pistons decided to waive him, which means his $1.997 million salary for the 2023-24 season was not guaranteed unless he remained on the team’s roster by July 6.
Hampton has had a nomadic journey in the NBA since being selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2020 draft.
R.J. will most likely be looking to plant some roots at his next NBA stop now that he has a baby on the way according to our source. Our source has informed us R.J. and college track star/model Tiffany Jeffcoat have a child on the way.

R.J. was spotted in the comment section:
Originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets.
After playing 25 games for the Nuggets, Hampton was then traded to the Orlando Magic in March 2021 as part of the Aaron Gordon trade. He had his most productive stint in the NBA when he joined the Magic, averaging 11.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in 26 appearances.
Best of luck to R.J. moving forward.
