Thaddeus Moss, the former NFL and LSU tight end, has announced his retirement from football.
Known as the son of Hall of Famer Randy Moss, he recently had a stint with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats but was released during training camp.
“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over. Thank You #Retired”
Thaddeus Moss, initially a three-star recruit in the class of 2016, commenced his college journey at NC State.
During his freshman year, he participated in five games, securing five passes for 49 yards along with a touchdown.

Transitioning to LSU after his transfer, Moss encountered a hiatus in 2017 due to transfer regulations followed by the 2018 season sidelined by injury. His return in 2019 proved pivotal as he contributed significantly with 47 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns, coinciding with LSU’s undefeated season and national championship triumph.
Despite going undrafted in 2020, Moss inked a deal with the Washington Football Team, yet his season was marred by injury, resulting in his release. Subsequently, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, earning promotion to the active roster in November. However, an untimely injury during pregame warmups thwarted his opportunity to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Post his stint with the Bengals, Moss found himself waived from their practice squad ahead of the 2022 season. He later pursued opportunities with the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions before ultimately transitioning to Canada.
