There has been some confusion surrounding Ryan Garcia’s recent drug test results.
On Monday, Garcia requested that the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) retest his B-sample following a positive test result for the banned substance Ostarine from his A-sample, taken before his April 20 fight against Devin Haney. Initially, VADA reported that Garcia’s A-sample also indicated the presence of 19-Norandrosterone, although it was not conclusively confirmed.
Recent developments, however, have clarified that 19-Norandrosterone was not detected in further testing, which means Garcia is not implicated for this second substance.

Nonetheless, this does not fully clear him of doping allegations. The key issue remains the detection of Ostarine in his A-sample.
For Garcia to be fully exonerated, his B-sample must also show no traces of Ostarine. Misleading headlines or posts might suggest Garcia is cleared of all charges, but his status still depends entirely on the outcome of the B-sample analysis.
If Ostarine is detected in the B-sample, Garcia could face significant repercussions, including the possible overturning of his victory and disciplinary actions.
