Social media influencer and plus-size model Sophie Hall has escalated her legal battle against NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill by requesting an immediate jury trial for her lawsuit.
Filed earlier this year, the lawsuit accuses Hill of causing serious bodily harm to Hall during a private gathering.
In her legal filing, Hall describes Hill, known as ‘Cheetah’ for his exceptional speed and agility on the football field, as a “National Football League superstar, perennial Pro Bowler, First Team All-Pro and world class athlete.” The complaint details an incident where Hill allegedly responded with violence after being embarrassed during a casual backyard football session. According to Hall, what started as a light-hearted lesson escalated dramatically when she inadvertently knocked Hill backwards, an action that supposedly wounded his pride in front of friends and family. The lawsuit claims that Hill, overcome by anger, retaliated by pushing Hall so forcefully that it resulted in a severe fracture to her right leg.
The incident reportedly led to significant medical intervention for Hall, who claims she had to undergo surgery involving the implantation of metal hardware to address the fracture. The lawsuit specifies that this confrontation occurred during what was supposed to be a friendly “offensive drill,” after Hill had invited Hall to his home. Hall suggests that her presence at Hill’s residence was the result of an invitation extended via Instagram messages after her son enrolled in a football camp run by the NFL star.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Hall is pursuing damages amounting to up to $75,000, citing battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. This lawsuit has now reached a critical point, with Hall requesting that the case be expedited to a jury trial. According to Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater, if the judge approves this request, the trial could coincide with the NFL season and potentially last between 7 to 10 days.
In contrast, Tyreek Hill’s legal representative, Julius B. Collins, has presented a starkly different account of the events leading to Hall’s injuries.
Speaking to ESPN in March, Collins suggested that Hall’s injuries were the result of an accident in which she tripped over a dog, arguing that the lawsuit was merely a tactic to badger Hill into covering her medical expenses out of fear of negative publicity.
This legal dispute has thus drawn a contentious line between the two parties’ narratives, setting the stage for a complex legal battle that might not only seek to establish the facts of the incident but also explore the motives behind the lawsuit itself.
