Mayor of Saint-Denis, Mathieu Hanotin, shared the news on X (formerly known as Twitter), revealing that the iconic rapper will carry the Olympic torch through the streets of the Paris suburb, which is also home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium.
In a translated message, Hanotin wrote, “Saint Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast @SnoopDogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame.”
Snoop Dogg also teased the announcement with his own post on X, sharing a photo of himself arriving in Paris with the caption, “U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg.”

NBC previously announced that the rapper-turned-media personality will join the network in France for the Summer Games, where he will contribute to the coverage of the event.
According to a press release from NBC, “The global megastar will be on site in Paris to provide regular reports for the Olympic Primetime Show beginning July 26, 2024, on NBC and Peacock.”
Snoop, 52, will check in with NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico and provide primetime coverage at various events throughout the international competition. “He’ll explore the city’s iconic landmarks, attend Olympic competitions and events, and visit with the athletes, their friends, and families,” the network said.
Reflecting on his involvement, Snoop Dogg shared his enthusiasm in a statement: “I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness.”
