Snoop Dogg isn’t just leaving the 2024 Paris Olympics as a torch bearer and a seasoned sports commentator—he might now have a future as an art historian, too.
The “Gin and Juice” rapper took part in a tour of the Louvre for the official NBC Olympics & Paralympics TikTok account.
The video, posted on Friday, August 2, captures Snoop Dogg’s unique take on art history, complete with hilarious commentary and quirky observations, including calling himself “Mona Lisa’s twin brother” and mistaking Cupid for a “lady.”
“You ever see Night at the Museum? Well tonight, you get to go in the museum with Snoop Dogg. And we’re gonna be snooping around,” Snoop began the clip, setting the tone for an entertaining tour of the iconic museum. Accompanied by a tour guide, he explored some of the Louvre’s most famous artworks.
Snoop’s first stop was the “Mona Lisa,” where he humorously claimed a familial connection to the painting’s subject. “Just found out I was Mona Lisa’s twin brother, Tony Lisa,” Snoop quipped. He then further analyzed the painting, moving from side to side to observe the artwork’s renowned enigmatic smile. “Let me walk over here and see if you looking at me,” he said, before confirming, “OK, I like that. That was hard. She smile real hard when I stand on this side.”
As the tour continued, Snoop pointed out another artwork, asking, “Is that somebody’s head getting chopped off?” The museum guide then led him to “The Winged Victory of Samothrace,” where Snoop was asked to guess which wing on the statue was real and which was a replica. He answered correctly, earning a celebratory “bravo” from the guide.
Next, Snoop examined “Cupid and Psyche” by Francois-Edouard Picot, initially mistaking the figures for “two ladies” in bed. When the guide clarified that one of the figures was Cupid, Snoop responded with amusement, “Cupid! I knew it was somebody I knew.”
The tour concluded with “Liberty Leading the People,” where Snoop noticed a “revolutionary cap” similar to what he was wearing. “She got on what I got on right now,” he joked.

Snoop Dogg has embraced a variety of roles during the Olympics in France. Besides his art tour, he has been reporting for NBC and had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis. In a moment reminiscent of Muhammad Ali’s iconic torch lighting at the 1996 Atlanta Games, Snoop danced and waved to the crowd, marking a memorable occasion.
Reflecting on his experience, Snoop told NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico, “It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there. This is my own version of it. I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special.”
“This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world,” he added. “At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this. I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this.”
Snoop Dogg’s participation in the Paris Olympics has been a testament to his versatility and charisma, leaving a lasting impression both in the sports and arts worlds.
