The longstanding working relationship between Skip Bayless and Lil Wayne dates back even before Stephen A. Smith joined First Take.
Lil Wayne first appeared on ESPN’s popular morning debate show in 2012, surprising his good friend Skip Bayless while on tour.
In the years that followed, Lil Wayne made multiple appearances on First Take, until Skip Bayless moved to FS1 in the Fall of 2016.
Notably, Lil Wayne played a crucial role in the transition of morning sports debate shows by writing and performing the theme song for “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed,” a track that Skip often praises as one of Lil Wayne’s greatest hits.

During a recent episode of The Skip Bayless Show, the esteemed sports commentator revealed that Lil Wayne had sent him the brand new theme song for the upcoming relaunch of Undisputed.
Skip, who is 71 years old, expressed his admiration for the track by his “brother Lil Wayne,” stating that it exceeded his expectations and was even better than the original.
Further confirming their collaboration, Skip took to Instagram on Monday to announce that they had just filmed a video for the show’s new song titled “Good Morning,” alongside a picture of himself and Lil Wayne.
Undisputed is set to relaunch on August 28th, with Lil Wayne joining the debate desk every Friday to discuss sports with his longtime friend Skip Bayless.
