Travis Hunter, who left Saturday’s game following a contentious hit by Colorado State Rams safety Henry Blackburn, has been revealed to have suffered a lacerated liver during his team’s overtime triumph over Colorado State on Saturday night. The hit by Blackburn on Hunter has left the Colorado Buffaloes without one of their key players for their upcoming matchups against Oregon and USC over the next two weeks.

Despite the setback, the Buffaloes, under Coach Sanders, have enjoyed a stellar start to the season, achieving a 3-0 record. They secured a thrilling 43-35 double-overtime victory over Colorado State, with Shedeur Sanders, the team’s quarterback, leading a remarkable comeback. He completed 38 of 47 passes for 348 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Notably, he orchestrated a 98-yard touchdown drive that included a two-point conversion in the closing minutes to force overtime and contributed two touchdown passes during the overtime periods.

Travis Hunter had made a significant impact in the first two games of the season for Colorado, contributing an interception and 11 receptions for 119 yards in the season-opening win against TCU. He followed up with three catches for 73 yards and four tackles in the subsequent victory over Nebraska.
