Skip Bayless remains steadfast in his critical stance on Patrick Mahomes, as he dissected Mahomes’ performance against the Lions during Friday’s episode of “Undisputed.”
Despite the reigning Super Bowl MVP’s stat line of 226 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Thursday night game, Bayless emphasized the absence of Travis Kelce, who was sidelined due to a knee injury.
Bayless raised the question of whether Kelce, not Mahomes, is the driving force behind the Chiefs, likening their partnership to Batman and Robin.
He further questioned whether Kelce has played a significant role in elevating Mahomes’ performance.
Unyielding in his critique, Bayless remarked, “Patrick Mahomes struggled last night without the ultimate security blanket.”
Even before the 2023 season commenced, Bayless had voiced his opinion that Mahomes was not the best quarterback in the league.
He remarked, “All this talk about Mahomes’ unconventional throws – nobody would tolerate it if not for Andy Reid. Sometimes, it backfires because he attempts the extraordinary at any given moment.”
To counter Bayless’s criticisms, Mahomes has the opportunity to silence his detractor with a strong comeback performance against the Jaguars in the upcoming week.
