Skip Bayless, known for his penchant for offering suggestions, even if they defy reality, found himself in a bit of a blunder.
Following a trade to the Lone Star State ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance has yet to make an appearance in a game. Despite the Cowboys being expected to dominate the New York Giants on Sunday, Bayless, a Fox Sports 1 personality, took to social media, advocating for the inclusion of third-string quarterback Trey Lance during the blowout.
However, Bayless overlooked a crucial detail—Lance was not even active for the game.
Lance has been designated as the emergency quarterback for the Cowboys, positioned behind Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush on game days. He is only eligible to play in the rare scenario where both the starter and backup are injured and declared unable to return.
Fans were quick to point out Skip’s oversight, highlighting his lack of awareness of the rules.
Despite the game against the Giants being a lopsided affair, with the Cowboys dominating, Prescott didn’t finish the game due to the wide point differential. Nevertheless, Prescott delivered an impressive performance, completing 26-of-35 passes for 404 yards, securing 4 touchdowns and enduring a single interception. He also showcased his rushing abilities with 2 carries for 17 yards and a touchdown.
In light of the blunder, it seems Skip Bayless could benefit from a bit more research before sharing his thoughts on social media.
