Skip Bayless knows exactly when to seize an opportunity.
Aaron Rodgers enjoys a unique freedom of expression on The Pat McAfee Show. Within this environment, he’s not typically confronted with challenging questions, giving him the space to discuss a wide array of topics, from vaccines and politics to psychedelics, football, and even darkness retreats on ESPN’s airwaves.
Over the last three NFL seasons, Rodgers has become a polarizing figure during his appearances on McAfee’s show. This platform has allowed him to reinvent himself as a full-fledged conspiracy theorist, openly engaging in disputes with the media.

Yet, in the eyes of Skip Bayless, Rodgers has also developed a reputation for avoiding the tough questions. It’s worth noting that Bayless has claimed credit for branding Rodgers as a “diva” before the rest of the world caught on. He frequently labels Rodgers as a “master media manipulator” and criticizes him for deflecting blame and pointing fingers.
Bayless shared these views in a casual comment during a joint interview with GQ, conducted with Lil Wayne. The interview touched upon their unlikely friendship and their dream guests on Undisputed, the show Bayless co-hosts. When asked about his dream guest, Bayless initially mentioned his rapper friend, only to later reveal that LeBron James would be his ultimate choice. Lil Wayne thought he might say Tom Brady or Michael Jordan.
Wayne mentioned that his dream guest would be the late Kobe Bryant. Then, he stated that he’d love to sit down with Aaron Rodgers. It was at this point that Skip Bayless offered his perspective on the possibility of Rodgers appearing on Undisputed.
“I think he’d be afraid,” Bayless responded. “He wants softball questions.”
Given his previous comments, it’s not surprising that Bayless feels this way about Rodgers. However, it remains to be seen whether Rodgers will take the bait and engage with Bayless, especially after the New York Post reported that Pat McAfee pays Rodgers over seven figures to join the show weekly and field those “softball” questions.
Considering Bayless’s reputation, it’s doubtful that Aaron Rodgers will even utter his name, let alone make an appearance on his show. Skip has extended the invitation; now it’s a waiting game to see if Rodgers will accept.
