Simone Biles hopes to eventually add another title to her list of accolades: mother.
The 27-year-old Olympian, who became the most-decorated gymnast of all time after her highly successful Paris Olympics, sat down with the Today show’s Hoda Kotb on Tuesday, August 6.
During the interview, she revealed that having children is something she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, see in their future.
“Jonathan and I always talk about kids,” Biles shared during the interview from the Paris Games. “He would have them, like, yesterday if he could.”
“Obviously, we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family. But yes, that’s definitely in our future,” she added.
When asked by Kotb if she envisions herself as a mom, Biles responded, “Yes, most definitely.”
Owens, 29, echoed these sentiments when asked by PEOPLE about their plans for kids during an interview at the Games. The Chicago Bears safety said, “Man, in the future, man. For sure.”

During her Today show segment, Kotb asked Biles to identify a person who has helped her achieve her current success. Reflecting on her past, Biles—who spent years in foster care before being adopted by her grandparents, Nellie and Ron, in 2003—credited her parents.
“If not for my parents and adoption, I would not be here today,” Biles responded.
In a 2021 episode of her Facebook Watch series, Simone Vs. Herself, Biles opened up about taking on a more maternal role when she and her sister Adria were younger.
“I wanted to take care of Adria obviously because she was the baby,” Simone said on the series. “I just felt like I needed to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you, who’s going to?”
Adria, in a 2016 interview with ESPN, described Biles as “kind and humble,” adding, “I look up to her in every way.”
The future looks bright for Biles, both in her career and personal life, as she and Owens plan to eventually expand their family.
