Simone Biles is back home and reunited with her husband, Jonathan Owens!
On Thursday, August 15, the 27-year-old gymnastics superstar shared a heartwarming photo on social media, marking the first time she has posted about Owens since returning from the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The image featured Owens, 29, casually styling his hair in the bathroom, with one of their beloved bulldogs by his side.
Biles, who made history at the Paris Games by winning three gold medals and one silver, captioned the photo with a series of affectionate emojis: “???.”
The Olympian arrived back in the U.S. on Monday, August 12, the day after participating in the closing ceremony. She took to Instagram Stories to express her joy at being home, sharing a makeup-free selfie from bed with the caption, “Never been so happy.”
Owens, who plays safety for the Chicago Bears, had flown out to Paris to support Biles during her incredible Olympic run. He was in the stands to witness her triumph in the all-around final, where she clinched gold. However, due to his commitments with the Bears’ training camp, he had to return to the U.S. before Biles competed in the individual beam and floor exercise finals, where she secured a silver medal.
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus explained the team’s decision to allow Owens to travel to Paris during training camp, a rare exception in the NFL. “Just because we respect the Olympics,” Eberflus said in a press conference. “That is a big deal. And he’s just supporting the one he loves the most. And I think that’s so cool that he gets to do that.” He added, “We welcome that, and it’s going to be awesome. Go USA.”
Despite the NFL’s typically strict attendance requirements during training camp, the Bears excused Owens from seven preseason practices, recognizing the significance of the occasion and the importance of supporting his wife during her historic Olympic performance.

Following Biles’ record-breaking achievements, which made her the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history, Owens took to social media to praise his wife. When Biles posted a photo of herself wearing the four medals she earned at the Games, captioning it “more than my wildest dreams ?,” Owens responded in the comments, “So so proud of you baby.”
While in Paris, Owens also spoke about his admiration for Biles. “I’m confident in her ability. Obviously, you still have to go out there and do it, but I was confident that she would,” he said on August 5. “As the world saw, man, she didn’t disappoint.”
Reflecting on the experience, Owens added, “It was an unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’m just so thankful I was able to go and just witness her continue to make history. I’m just so proud.”
Now back home together, Biles and Owens are enjoying their reunion after a whirlwind Olympic journey that saw Biles once again cement her legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
