Simone Biles recently shared a shocking experience she had at a Paris nightclub after the Olympic closing ceremony, where the club attempted to charge her an outrageous $26,000 for a single bottle of champagne. The incident occurred during a night out to celebrate her incredible achievements at the Paris Games, where she secured three gold medals and a silver.
In a candid “get ready with me” TikTok video posted on Monday, Biles recounted the bizarre and frustrating moment while preparing for her husband Jonathan Owens’ preseason football game, in which his Chicago Bears triumphed 27-3 over the Cincinnati Bengals.
“We had closing ceremonies at the Olympics. I went and after that we went out,” Biles began, as she applied her makeup. “You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of champagne. Like, are you insane?”
Clearly taken aback by the audacity of the situation, Biles expressed her disbelief. “Obviously, I didn’t buy it. But why would you even try to play me like that? Like, that’s wild,” she continued. “And I don’t know, sometimes the attention, I’d rather not have it. I’d rather just be as normal as possible… I don’t know.”
Biles chose not to disclose the name of the nightclub involved in the incident, but it certainly left a mark on her otherwise triumphant time in Paris.
This isn’t the first time Biles has given fans a glimpse into her post-Olympic celebrations. The 27-year-old gymnast previously shared photos of her and her sister, Adria Biles, enjoying a night out at L’Arc, one of Paris’ most popular nightclubs, following the conclusion of her third Olympic Games. In one Instagram post, Biles humorously captioned a snapshot, “The reason I’m unwell this morning,” showing her at a private table with bottle service, surrounded by signs that read “Simone Biles God 4 Life” and “Gym legend.” The celebratory atmosphere was complete with someone waving an American flag while gold confetti rained down from above.
In the same TikTok video, Biles touched on her plans for the upcoming football season, sharing that she hasn’t yet decided how many Chicago Bears games she’ll be able to attend to support her husband, Jonathan Owens, who signed a two-year contract with the team in March.
“I’m not sure how many games I’ll be able to make because in a few weeks we go on tour,” she said, referring to the “Athleta Presents Gold Over America Tour,” which she will headline. “I think right now we’re doing about 32 stops [on the tour].”
The Gold Over America Tour promises to be a spectacular showcase of athletic brilliance, featuring high-energy choreography and inspirational messages of hope, strength, resilience, and determination. Biles will be joined by her U.S. women’s gymnastics teammates, including Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, as well as other gymnastics superstars. The tour is set to bring the excitement and inspiration of gymnastics to arenas across the United States this fall.
As Biles continues to balance her personal life, professional commitments, and newfound challenges, her candidness about the ups and downs of fame only endears her more to her fans.
Whether she’s navigating the spotlight in Paris or supporting her husband on the football field, Biles remains a symbol of grace, resilience, and unmatched talent.
