Shohei Ohtani continues to make waves off the baseball diamond as the face of Porsche Japan, recently starring in a promotional campaign alongside the sleek new electric Taycan.
In a snapshot shared by Porsche on Friday, Ohtani sported a stylish brown leather jacket paired with dark trousers and black cleats, embodying the blend of performance and sophistication synonymous with Porsche’s latest offerings in Japan.
“Not satisfied with evolution. Higher, faster and further. New model Taycan,” Porsche’s caption proudly proclaimed, highlighting the innovative advancements of the 2025 Porsche Taycan. According to Car and Driver, this cutting-edge vehicle starts at $101,395 and can escalate up to $231,995 depending on the model.
The Turbo S variant boasts staggering acceleration, reaching 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds, while the base rear-wheel-drive model achieves the same feat in 4.3 seconds. With a fully charged battery, the Porsche Taycan delivers an impressive range between 250 and 325 miles.

Off the promotional set, Ohtani’s playful antics have added a touch of humor to the Porsche narrative. During a season where he shattered numerous records, including surpassing Dodgers manager Dave Roberts for the most home runs by a Japanese-born player in LA Dodgers history,
Ohtani decided to play a light-hearted prank on his skipper. Promising Roberts a Porsche once he broke the record, Ohtani fulfilled his pledge after hitting his eighth home run of the season against the Atlanta Braves, achieving the milestone in just 34 games.
Expecting a full-sized luxury car, Roberts was pleasantly surprised to receive a miniature toy Porsche from Ohtani instead. “He said he wanted a car,” Ohtani chuckled through translator Will Ireton. “I’m glad he’s happy. He got a car.” This playful gesture exemplifies Ohtani’s charismatic personality and his ability to keep the atmosphere light within the Dodgers clubhouse.
Earlier, Ohtani had also gifted a Porsche to Joe Kelly’s wife, Ashley, as a token of appreciation for her role in promoting his jersey number switch to No. 17, symbolizing a fresh start and new chapter in his career.
This gesture, along with his pranks and remarkable on-field achievements, solidifies Ohtani not only as a superstar athlete but also as a beloved figure known for his generosity and sense of humor.
As Ohtani continues to excel both on and off the field, his partnership with Porsche and his captivating persona continue to captivate fans worldwide, showcasing his multifaceted talents beyond baseball.
