Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani recently disclosed his marriage and has now made a formal public appearance with his wife.
The couple, Ohtani and Mamiko Tanaka, attended the eighth annual Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday night, an event that supports the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
They were photographed together at the start of the evening.

Ohtani announced in February that he was married, initially withholding his wife’s name but describing her as “a normal Japanese woman” whom he had known for 3-4 years.
A few weeks after this revelation, Ohtani posted a photo with Tanaka on Instagram, confirming her identity.
Following some early misidentifications, it has been confirmed that Tanaka is a professional basketball player in Japan. She has competed for Waseda University and the Fujitsu Red Wave in the Women’s Japan Basketball League. Standing at 5-foot-11, Tanaka plays as a power forward-center.
The pair are contenders for being one of the world’s most athletic couples.
