Golfers at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware, were left in shock on Thursday when a blue Ford Bronco unexpectedly barreled onto the course, causing chaos and endangering lives. The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m., prompting immediate calls to 911. Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control officers quickly responded to reports that the SUV had driven onto the course at high speed, striking a golf cart and ejecting its passenger.
Videos captured by witnesses show the Ford Bronco narrowly missing one golf cart parked near the green as a golfer frantically fled the scene. The Bronco then collided with a second golf cart, violently knocking its passenger to the ground. After the collision, the Bronco continued to drive erratically, circling over a hill before heading back toward the road.
Fortunately, the golfer who was ejected from the cart only suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene. Despite the terrifying nature of the incident, no serious injuries were reported.
In a swift response, police were able to track down the Ford Bronco and apprehend the driver without further incident. According to authorities, the driver made statements upon arrest that necessitated his transport to a hospital for evaluation.

One of the golfers who narrowly escaped being hit by the Bronco shared his harrowing experience on Reddit. “So I am in this video,” the user wrote. “I am the guy that runs out of the way right before the driver plows into the golf cart my buddy was in.”
The golfer recounted how they had just finished the 16th hole when they noticed the Bronco doing doughnuts on the driving range. He began recording the incident with his phone, intending to capture the license plate and report it to the clubhouse. However, the situation quickly escalated.
“The driver saw I was recording him and turned to try and run me over,” the golfer explained. “At this point, all we know is the driver has been apprehended by the police, and we have given our statements. It went from ‘I’m taking pictures of some idiot’ to ‘oh he’s trying to murder me’ in about 0.5 seconds.”
Understandably shaken by the experience, the golfer and his group decided not to finish the last two holes. “We didn’t finish the last two [holes] after we almost died… It kind of killed the vibe,” he added.
This bizarre and dangerous incident has left the local golfing community rattled, highlighting how quickly a day on the course can turn into a near-death experience when reckless behavior is involved. The arrested driver now faces serious legal consequences for his actions, which could have ended in tragedy.
