The head coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, is facing a tumultuous year in 2023, and it appears that his situation is poised to worsen.
The Patriots have started the season with a 1-3 record, and at the time of writing, they were trailing the New Orleans Saints 21-0 at halftime. Unless a major turnaround occurs, they seem destined to conclude Week 5 with a 1-4 record.
In addition to his on-field struggles, Belichick’s personal life has not provided much comfort, as he recently experienced a breakup. Belichick and his longtime girlfriend, Linda Holliday, parted ways earlier this year, and Page Six has revealed some concerning details.

According to sources, despite their separation, Linda has refused to vacate Belichick’s residence.
“Six-time Super Bowl champion Belichick has been in a prolonged, on-and-off breakup with Holliday for nearly a year,” Page Six reported.
Complicating matters is that southern gal Holliday has got to be very fond of his New England haven Nantucket during their romance, and isn’t keen to leave the tight-knit island community just because she’s no longer with Belichick.
We’re told she wants to stick around. Meanwhile, it’s also a delicate situation for business reasons — not only does Holliday head his Bill Belichick Foundation but she also has something of a history of, er, oversharing on social media.
PEOPLE also reports that there are unresolved issues between them, stemming from their lengthy relationship and her involvement in his professional life.
“They have issues to clear up that come from a long relationship as well as her role in his professional life,” the publication notes, citing a source.
Bill and Linda have been together since 2007, having initially met during a night out, and Bill asked her out with a bouquet of flowers.
Reports suggest that the New England Patriots’ management is apprehensive about what Linda might disclose, given her outspoken nature and active presence on social media.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Bill Belichick appears to have moved on swiftly after his split with Linda, as he has been seen with a significantly younger girlfriend.
It’s quite surprising that Bill managed to avoid major personal setbacks throughout his career until this point.
