Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is shaping up to be one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Many experts anticipate he could go first overall, potentially ahead of his teammate Travis Hunter and Miami quarterback Cam Ward.
If the New York Giants end up holding the top pick, Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, is confident about their choice. Speaking on “The Pacman Jones Show,” Deion didn’t mince words:
“Giants are not gonna give up that pick. They not gonna give up that pick,” Deion said. “The Giants are not giving up that pick. Shedeur’s gonna be the No. 1 pick.”
However, the draft order is far from set, and the Giants may not ultimately secure the first overall selection.
The Las Vegas Raiders, currently tied with New York for the league’s worst record, hold the tiebreaker due to a weaker strength of schedule. Should the Raiders clinch the top pick, it appears Shedeur Sanders would be more than pleased.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Sanders has a clear preference between the two struggling franchises.
“Multiple sources close to Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado program believe his preference would be to land in Las Vegas,” Raanan reported. “The Raiders and Giants are currently tied with the worst record in the NFL.”
The dynamic quarterback has left hints about his interest in both teams. Recently, he created a buzz when he bumped into Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers on the streets of New York, even tossing a football with him in a playful exchange.
Meanwhile, Deion Sanders has made it known he’d love to see his sons on the Raiders. During a conversation with Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, he half-jokingly suggested the team draft both Shedeur and Shilo Sanders.
With three weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, the race for the league’s worst record—and the coveted No. 1 pick—remains tight.
Whether it’s the Giants or the Raiders who land Shedeur Sanders, one thing is clear: the electrifying Colorado quarterback will be the crown jewel of the 2025 draft, regardless of his personal preference.
