Rather than engaging in business negotiations or making appearances on ABC’s Shark Tank, entrepreneur Robert Herjavec unexpectedly found himself at the center of the sports world’s major narrative.
On Friday afternoon, MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported that baseball superstar free agent Shohei Ohtani was en route from Southern California to Toronto to determine his next baseball destination. However, just over an hour later, other reporters contradicted this claim, revealing that Ohtani was not on a plane bound for Toronto. Amidst the confusion, baseball enthusiasts sought information, and speculations circulated that the tracked plane actually belonged to Robert Herjavec.

In a lighthearted Instagram post, Herjavec confirmed the mix-up.
“I’d like to thank the @bluejays organization for signing me today!” Herjavec humorously wrote. “All joking aside—I’m not @shoheiohtani, and he was not on my plane today.
“Not sure how it all started, but I’m calling the Jays and seeing if they’ll sign my 5-year-old for $600 mil (he WAS on the plane and throws a mean pitch).”
It has indeed been a peculiar day in the world of baseball. Shohei Ohtani has yet to announce his decision regarding which team he will sign with, expected to command the most lucrative contract in North American sports history.
