Here’s the reasoning Shaq gave for his pedicure expenditures:
‘I give about $1,000. Because I know my feet stink. I know they’re ugly. And I like to paint them. I paint that s**t because it’s ugly.’
Shaq even provided an entertaining story about his pedicure adventures.
‘True story. One time, I had a toenail that was torn off. And I wasn’t going to play in the game. My mom was like, ‘Baby, why you not playing in the game?’ I was like, ‘I torn my toenail off’.
‘So she did something and she put some red polish on the thing. And I had 40 [points] that game. So I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna start painting my toenails.”
In his career with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers, Shaq had 49 games with 40+ points scored and now we know that at least one came when he had painted toenails.
