It’s evident that Shaq isn’t particularly impressed with the NBA rookie.
During a recent episode of the NBA on TNT, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal expressed his less than enthusiastic opinion of rookie Victor Wembanyama. Shaq drew a comparison between Wembanyama and Phoenix Suns center Bol Bol, highlighting that Bol had demonstrated the ability to make three-pointers as a 7-foot-3 player before Wembanyama did.

Charles Barkley attempted to challenge the comparison, but Shaq stood his ground, leaving Barkley somewhat bewildered.
While Barkley may have opted to let the matter rest, the fans in the comments section did not hold back. Many criticized Shaq for equating the former No. 1 pick with Bol.
One user replied, “Bol Bol can’t do what Wemby does, period.”
Another user wrote, “Shaq doesn’t seem to know much about current basketball, lol.”
A third user added, “Bol Bol has been in the league for four years with three different teams, and he’s had enough time to prove himself with that skill set, but he hasn’t.”
As of now, through four games, Victor Wembanyama is averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, with a three-point shooting percentage of 26%.
In contrast, Bol Bol has a career three-point shooting percentage of 29% in the NBA.
It’s clear that Shaq may hold a particular view regarding centers who have a slimmer build.
