Shannon Sharpe is known for his candidness on TV and his podcast, but when it comes to bathroom boundaries, he has some strict rules.
For Sharpe, the primary boundary involves gas – he refuses to pass gas in the presence of a female companion. In return, he expects any woman hoping for a lasting relationship with the Pro Football Hall of Famer to adhere to the same rule and not pass gas in front of him.
“Using the bathroom in front of a woman, I don’t do that,” Sharpe told co-host Chad Johnson on their Nightcap with Unc & Ocho podcast. “I don’t pass gas, no. Hell no.”

Johnson expressed his astonishment at Sharpe’s admission and shared a completely opposite viewpoint. He recounted that his grandmother once told him that as soon as he found a woman who could use the bathroom with the door open, she would be “the one.” Johnson proudly mentioned his fiancée as the woman who made the cut by farting in front of him.
Sharpe, however, had a different experience and stated, “Ocho, hey! I broke up with a girl for doing that! I swear before God and two white men, I did.”
Johnson, in contrast, not only encourages his fiancée to let it out but also grades her farts, evaluating their quality. “Baby, let that sh*t out. And I grade it. I grade it too. When she lets one out, ‘Okay, that was about a four right there. That was about a four. That was a good one.'”
While it’s a fact that everybody poops and everybody farts, Sharpe’s house is an exception. He doesn’t indulge in these activities in front of others, and the same rule applies to anyone at his home.
Sharpe shared, “If we’re both home, nobody goes to the bathroom in the master bathroom. For the longest time, I would literally drive back to Fox or I would go to the guest house, or I would send her to the store… and that was my opportunity.”
Sharpe’s stance on this issue aligns more with Dan Orlovsky, his new ESPN colleague, who also shared earlier this year that his wife refrains from using the bathroom when he’s home.
It appears that in today’s age, people might be sharing a bit too much information.
