This weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live may have had its share of lackluster moments, but one segment stood out and quickly gained traction online.
Shane Gillis, previously dismissed by ‘SNL’ before his debut due to “offensive comments,” returned as a host alongside 21 Savage as the musical guest. Despite a rocky start with his monologue, the comedian managed to elicit laughter throughout the show with some of his sketches and spoof advertisements.
One particularly memorable moment featured Gillis pitching the unconventional betting platform, Rock Bottom Kings. Rather than focusing on sports wagers, the platform allowed users to bet on how low their friends’ lives could plummet.
In the sketch, Gillis, along with Kenan Thompson and Marcello Hernandez, portrayed spokespeople for the service, with Gillis humorously declaring, “You’re not a loser — your friend is,” as the sketch concluded.

Gillis, renowned as the co-host of Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, made a comeback to the show as its host five years after his departure from the cast. In 2019, the 36-year-old was ousted following the resurfacing of racist and homophobic jokes made on his podcast.
Despite the setback, Gillis has experienced success on his own in recent years. He released a stand-up special on YouTube in 2021, amassing well over 23 million views. Additionally, he secured a Netflix special titled “Beautiful Dogs,” which premiered last year.
