It was quite unexpected to see Woody Johnson and rapper Sexyy Red twinning at the Jets’ season opener on Monday.
Both the 76-year-old Jets owner and the 25-year-old rapper sported diamond necklaces adorned with their names during the team’s home opener against the Bills at MetLife Stadium.
Johnson’s bling featured a “Woody and the Jets” pendant on a link chain, while Sexyy Red’s “Big Sexyy” dazzled alongside a diamond Hello Kitty necklace.

Jets fans caught a glimpse of Johnson’s jewelry on an episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” last month, where he mentioned being inspired by the team to acquire the necklace.
During Monday night’s game, Johnson shared a friendly exchange with Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry. They posed for photos together just before the Jets pulled off a thrilling 22-16 overtime victory.
Sexyy Red, sporting a bedazzled Jets jersey featuring Sauce Gardner’s No. 1, also shared a hug with the star Jets cornerback on the sidelines.
The rapper couldn’t contain her excitement about the VIP experience with the Jets and took to social media to express her joy.
“We have glizzys, guacamole — we living, baby,” Sexyy Red exclaimed in a video from a private suite. “The Jets are treating me so well. Praise the Lord. The Jets invited me out. We’re representing the Jets tonight. We’re outside, we’re rich now, huh? We’re backstage and all that.”
The Jets also featured a video of Sexyy Red on the sidelines in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Elsewhere at MetLife Stadium, Sexyy Red took photos with rapper YG and crossed paths with Teyana Taylor in the backstage hallways of the venue.
Sexyy Red’s music was featured in the latest season of “Hard Knocks,” which documented the Jets’ training camp in Florham Park, New Jersey, leading up to the 2023 season.
So, it felt just right for Sexyy Red to attend her first football game as a guest of the Jets.
