Dolphins players weren’t only frostbitten from their loss to the Chiefs last Saturday.
The postseason clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday night turned out to be an epic battle against extreme cold. With a wind chill of negative thirty degrees and sub-zero conditions, the game earned the title of the coldest in NFL history. Reports indicate that several players are said to have suffered from frostbite.
The harsh weather conditions took a toll not only on the players but also on the spectators. Fifteen fans were reportedly admitted to the hospital, receiving treatment for various cold-related issues such as frostbite and hypothermia.
According to A.Q. Shipley, a former center with experience playing for the Steelers, Eagles, Colts, Ravens, Cardinals, and Buccaneers, every player who chose not to wear sleeves during that frigid night experienced frostbite. Shipley had this to say on the Pat McAfee Show,
“I think some people got some frostbite,“We heard anyone who wasn’t wearing sleeves. I think on both sides. It was -30. That’s so cold. That’s what I heard from sources.”
