A distressing incident occurred at an MLB game on Saturday night, resulting in multiple injuries due to an escalator malfunction.
During the Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Field, the escalator unexpectedly accelerated, causing chaos and panic among the fans.
According to reports, eleven individuals suffered injuries from the accident. Among these, one person sustained a broken leg. The malfunction caused several attendees on the escalator to lose their balance and tumble, leading to a range of injuries.
The Brewers organization issued a statement explaining that the escalator, which was transporting fans from the Terrace to the Loge Level, suddenly increased its speed downwards right after the game had concluded.

In the immediate aftermath, five of the injured were treated directly at the ballpark, while six others needed to be transported to local hospitals. Thankfully, the injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
Eyewitness accounts from fans at the scene describe a frightening scene. One fan recounted the harrowing experience on social media, stating, “Welp… I was one of them caught on this thing. A big portion of our group was on the escalator as it completely gave way with over 100 people on it. Probably the scariest thing that’s ever happened to me.” Another fan mentioned sustaining a knee injury, thankful that it wasn’t more severe.
As the affected individuals focus on their recovery, there is mounting concern that this incident could lead to legal action against those responsible for escalator maintenance and safety.
This unfortunate event highlights the importance of ensuring proper maintenance and safety measures are in place to prevent such accidents in the future.
