Sean Payton is calling it how he sees it.
In the upcoming season, Sean Payton faces a tough challenge with the Denver team.
During a media session, Payton was asked about the potential of Broncos safety Caden Sterns, to which his response highlighted the need for every member of the team to improve upon last year’s performance. It’s a fair assessment since the Broncos were the most disappointing team in the NFL, despite having a talented roster and Russell Wilson as their quarterback.
“Look, the next step is that cliche term,” Payton said, via Mike Klis of 9News. “I hope all of them take the next step because last year’s steps were not good enough.”

The team finished in last place in the AFC West with a 5-12 record. As a proven winner with the Saints, Payton will undoubtedly push for immediate improvement from the Broncos. The team’s first game under the Sean Payton era is set for September 10 against the Raiders.
If Payton can get the best out of Wilson, then things could be looking up for the Broncos. Otherwise, they may need to make changes to their quarterback position.
