Scottie Scheffler’s arraignment, initially set for Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Louisville, has been postponed, his attorney informed.
Steve Romines, his lawyer, says the arraignment for the top-ranked golfer has been moved to June 3, though no further details were provided.
Scheffler is facing four charges, including three driving-related misdemeanors and a more serious charge of second-degree assault of a police officer, a felony. Romines had earlier stated that Scheffler would plead “not guilty” to all charges.

The charges stem from an incident on Friday when Scheffler was trying to access the Valhalla Golf Club course. A tragic accident earlier that day, involving a pedestrian fatally struck by a shuttle bus, had caused significant traffic disruptions.
Scheffler, arriving around 6 a.m. for an 8:48 a.m. tee time, encountered a chaotic situation and was unaware of the earlier incident. He described the situation as a “misunderstanding” after a police officer directed him to stop, which quickly escalated to him being handcuffed and arrested. He spent a brief time in jail before returning to the course for his delayed start time.
Scheffler expressed uncertainty on Sunday about how the situation would resolve this week. He is slated to participate in the PGA Tour event at Colonial starting Thursday.
