Scottie Scheffler was arrested on his way to the PGA Championship on Friday morning ahead of the second round of the tournament.
A pedestrian was killed in the early morning hours in an accident involving a shuttle bus, causing traffic to back up for miles. Scheffler, with a 10:08 a.m. tee time, attempted to drive around the traffic, leading to police intervention.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington captured Scheffler’s arrest on video and reported from the scene. Scheffler was taken to the station, where he was booked and charged with multiple felonies in Kentucky before being released on his own recognizance.
