Today was a memorable day for Savannah James and her entire family.
The wife of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was visibly emotional as the Lakers selected her son, Bronny James, with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the NBA Draft.
This will make Bronny and LeBron the first father-son duo in league history.
Bronny celebrated the moment with his family.
The former McDonald’s All-American and USC guard became visibly emotional when his name was called.

As Savannah handed her son a Lakers hat, she dabbed her tears of joy with a white handkerchief.
Some critics questioned the Lakers’ decision to use draft capital on LeBron’s son, but ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski defended the move.
“I don’t want to hear the charges, people talking about nepotism. The NBA is full of nepotism,” Wojnarowski said during ESPN’s draft coverage. “The ownership level, front offices, coaching. I don’t want to hear about it all of a sudden because Bronny James’ father plays for the Lakers. It is rampant in this league.”
Bronny James joins University of Tennessee star Dalton Knecht as new Lakers selected in this year’s draft.
Los Angeles selected Knecht 17th overall in the first round on Wednesday night.
Fans can look forward to seeing Bronny’s debut in an LA uniform during the upcoming NBA Summer League next month.
