Sauce Gardner to the rescue!
Aaron Rodgers did not obtain permission from the New York Jets to skip the mandatory minicamp this week, yet this move was still well-received by at least one prominent teammate.
Rodgers was absent from the Jets’ minicamp on Tuesday and Wednesday. Head coach Robert Saleh noted the absence was unauthorized, mentioning that Rodgers had an important personal event to attend. Despite this, his absence has sparked criticisms from fans and the media, labeling him as selfish and a distraction to the team. In defense, star quarterback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner responded strongly on Thursday night.
“Are y’all really making a big deal because a 15+ year HOF QB missed 2 days of practice after being with the team all throughout Phase 1, 2, & 3 of OTA’s?? GG’s,” Gardner posted on X.

While Rodgers lacked formal approval to miss minicamp, Saleh confirmed that the four-time MVP had been in touch with the team.
Reports suggest Rodgers planned this absence during his recovery from a torn Achilles, and the team was aware he would miss minicamp due to the timing.
The specifics of Rodgers’ whereabouts remain unknown, but it’s evident that his teammates, particularly Gardner, are not troubled by his decision.
This incident has also led to fans joking about Rodgers’ activities during his time away from the team.
