On Saturday, Ryan Garcia captured the attention of fans on social media with his unique pre-fight preparation music choice before facing Devin Haney.
In the locker room at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the 25-year-old boxer was gearing up for the fight.
Instead of the typical rap or rock anthems, Garcia chose to listen to a string quartet playing classical music, creating a starkly different atmosphere from the usual pre-fight hype.

As the classical tunes filled the room, Garcia was observed fully immersed in the experience, a sharp contrast to the scene in his opponent’s locker room.
Devin Haney was seen enjoying a lively environment, dancing and mingling with celebrity guests including 21 Savage and A$AP Ferg.
The bout between Garcia and Haney almost didn’t happen. Garcia was over three pounds overweight at the official weigh-in and had to negotiate with Haney to proceed with the fight. He initially offered Haney $500,000 for each pound he was over the limit, but the final amount paid was reportedly less than the potential $1.5 million penalty.
Garcia ended up winning the fight against Haney, so it appears that his pre fight music was on point.
