Looks like there is some interest in Russell Wilson after all.
Russell Wilson’s impending release from the Denver Broncos has sparked considerable interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are actively pursuing the veteran quarterback as a potential solution to their quarterback woes.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette, the Steelers are keen on signing Wilson and have scheduled a meeting with him. Moreover, sources indicate that Wilson shares mutual interest in potentially joining the Steelers.
The Steelers are interested in signing Russell Wilson and are tentatively planning to meet with the former Denver Broncos quarterback before the official start of free agency next week, sources have told the Post-Gazette.

Wilson’s tenure with the Broncos effectively came to an end this week after the team publicly announced their decision, although his official free agency status won’t be confirmed until Wednesday. During his two-year stint in Denver, Wilson showcased his prowess, appearing in 30 games and amassing impressive stats, including 6,594 passing yards, 42 touchdown passes, and 19 interceptions.
Despite the Broncos facing a significant $85 million cap hit in dead money to part ways with Wilson, the Steelers view him as a valuable asset to bolster their roster.
In contrast, the Steelers experienced a mixed season last year, finishing with a 10-7 record but ultimately falling short in the wild-card round of the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills. With quarterback Kenny Pickett showing promise in his 25 appearances over his first two pro seasons, Pittsburgh aims to enhance their quarterback position by potentially securing the services of Russell Wilson.
