The NBA offseason never sleeps, especially when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers.
A former NBA executive told the NBA Analysis Network that the Lakers are keeping an eye on Joel Embiid’s situation.
If Embiid were to request a trade, the Laker could potentially put together the best package any team has to offer for the reigning MVP.
This from the anonymous former executive,
“There have been rumblings that the Lakers have been looking at the possibility that Joel Embiid could want to leave Philadelphia,” the exec said. “If that happens, Rob Pelinka and company would like to be in a position to put together a king’s ransom offer to land him.”
Embiid signed a four-year, $210 million contract extension with the Sixers in 2021. The Sixers have no plans to trade Embiid, but that will obviously change if he were to request trade.
