Rory McIlroy was seen in public for the first time since his poignant loss at the 2024 U.S. Open, an event that ended in a dramatic and emotional defeat for him.
Photos captured by The New York Post show McIlroy in Florida, spending time with his wife, Erica, and their daughter after his heart-wrenching performance at Pinehurst No. 2 last Sunday.
The photographs obtained by the Post reveal the family visiting the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida.
In these images, Erica Stoll prominently displays her substantial engagement ring, while both she and Rory are seen wearing their wedding bands. This comes after a period when the couple had considered divorce, but ultimately reconciled before the commencement of the U.S. Open.

In a statement to The Guardian, McIlroy expressed his renewed commitment to his family, saying, “Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
During the tournament, McIlroy finished with a score of -5, narrowly missing the championship by one stroke to Bryson DeChambeau, who clinched the title with a -6.
The U.S. Open nearly extended into a playoff, but McIlroy missed a crucial putt on the 18th hole. Following the miss, he promptly exited Pinehurst No. 2, choosing not to engage with NBC or any media outlets in the immediate aftermath.
