Ronda Rousey is going to be a mom again.
The 37-year-old professional wrestler joyfully announced her pregnancy at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 25.
Rousey is already a proud mother to her 2-year-old daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanip?, whom she shares with her husband, Travis Browne. Additionally, she is a loving stepmother to Browne’s two sons from his previous marriage.
The announcement came during a panel discussion where Rousey was promoting her graphic novel debut, “Expecting the Unexpected,” which launched through a Kickstarter campaign. She shared the exciting news with actor and panel host Dave Bautista, much to the delight of the audience.
In a June 2023 interview with PEOPLE, the UFC and WWE star spoke about her daughter’s resilience and toughness, noting how La’akea seems to take after her. “Oh, she’s definitely going to be tough. She doesn’t respond to pain so much,” Rousey said. “She just fell and scraped her knee today and she was just like… she didn’t even cry. She just kind of grunts it out!”
“The world isn’t ready for this little girl,” Rousey joked, highlighting her daughter’s spirited nature.

Rousey and Browne tied the knot in Browne’s native Hawaii in August 2017 and welcomed their daughter La’akea in September 2021. After the birth of her baby girl, Rousey proudly shared a photo on Instagram, celebrating the experience of breastfeeding her daughter.
“Our boys asked me the other day how I’m gonna feed P? on the plane when we take her with us to Hawaii. And I was like ‘uhhh, same way I always do’ ????? Then it occurred to me that they probably never seen anyone breastfeed before and weren’t sure if it was appropriate in public,” she wrote.
“Motherhood’s some badass, primal, beautiful s— that shouldn’t be hidden,” Rousey continued. “It still blows my mind that my body assembled this little person, pushed her out and now makes everything she needs to thrive ? It’s really nothing to be ashamed of, it’s something to brag about ?????? #normalizebreastfeeding #proudmama.”
Rousey’s announcement adds another chapter to her multifaceted life as an athlete, author, and dedicated mother. Fans and followers eagerly anticipate the arrival of her new bundle of joy and continue to support her inspiring journey both in and out of the ring.
