Business is thriving in the NFL, and thanks to a special lady, it’s reaching new heights.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has expressed his enthusiasm for the romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, citing the significant attention it brought to the NFL. Goodell stated, “It has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways. To see that they have a connection, now they have a connection to our game and to Taylor. I think it’s great for the league to have that kind of attention. So we welcome it.”
Swift and Kelce have been a couple for a little over two months, with the global music icon becoming a regular presence at Chiefs games. While initial interest has tapered off, her early appearances drew a substantial increase in viewership for NFL games, particularly among young women.
Additionally, the league has experienced a significant boost in its social and cultural profile due to this connection. Goodell’s sentiments align with those of Magic Johnson, who expressed that the league is “very happy” with the revenue increase attributed to Swift.

Recently, Kelce became a topic of discussion on The View. The hosts debated what they perceived as Travis Kelce “hiding” regarding his relationship with Taylor Swift. Sunny Hostin expressed concerns about some of Kelce’s statements, particularly his emphasis on not saying anything that might push Swift away. In contrast, Sara Haines raised apprehensions about Kelce admitting to “thinking constantly about retirement.”
Joy Behar surprisingly came to Kelce’s defense, dismissing any notion that he was seeking to leave football to solely rely on Swift. Despite attempts to clarify, concerns persisted about Kelce’s potential departure from football. At 34, with a decade in the NFL, Kelce’s consideration of retirement aligns with a trend where players contemplate life beyond football.
The average age of retirement in the NFL is 27.8, and Kelce’s current contract, paying him over $57 million, expires after the 2025 season. Moreover, both Kelce brothers have begun to explore opportunities beyond the football field in the public eye.
