The New England Patriots’ remarkable era of success was recently spotlighted in a 10-part documentary series titled “The Dynasty.”
However, some critics argued that the documentary focused too heavily on the negative aspects of the team’s 2001-2018 era. Even team owner Robert Kraft expressed his disappointment with this approach during the annual league meetings on Tuesday.
“I loved the first three episodes,” Kraft remarked, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “I felt bad that there was so much emphasis on the more controversial and ‘challenging’ situations over the last 20 years. I wish they had focused more on our Super Bowl wins, our 21-game win streak.”

Kraft further noted that some players, including Devin McCourty, Rodney Harrison, and Matthew Slater, felt that the documentary disproportionately highlighted negativity. He also mentioned that prominent individuals who provided extensive interviews were not adequately featured in the final production.
Harrison, among others, voiced concerns that the documentary portrayed head coach Bill Belichick in an unfairly negative light.
When asked about this perception, Kraft reiterated his admiration for Belichick’s contributions to the Patriots’ success. He expressed his hope to honor Belichick in a manner similar to the recognition given to Tom Brady, indicating a future induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
“The Dynasty” is currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.
