The LA Bowl, which showcased the UCLA Bruins facing off against the Boise State Broncos, stood out among the six Football Bowl Subdivision postseason games held on Saturday. What made this game particularly memorable was the presence of Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski played a notable role in the pre-game festivities, contributing to the singing of the national anthem before the Starco Brands LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk, held at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. However, it was hard to overlook the fact that he was noticeably off-pitch during his rendition.

Alongside the New Directions Veterans Choir based in Los Angeles, Gronkowski delivered The Star-Spangled Banner as a part of the opening ceremony.
The FOX football analyst, who had previously served as a guest host for New Year’s Eve in Times Square, signed a multi-year deal to host the LA Bowl, taking over from late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the game in 2021 and 2022.
In addition to his singing duties, Gronkowski took on the role of overseeing the game’s opening coin toss and serving as the emcee for the trophy ceremony.
Despite his less-than-perfect singing performance, the 34-year-old Gronkowski remains a football legend, widely regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history. With four All-Pro selections, four Super Bowl championships, and inclusion in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-2010s team, Gronk’s impact on the sport is truly one of a kind.
