Rob Gronkowski understands the importance of catering to football fans’ interests.
The former New England Patriots star, Rob Gronkowski, aged 34, expressed his opinion on the excessive coverage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s budding romance in the NFL. He mentioned that the TV cameras focus a bit too frequently on Swift in the stands during games.
“Bye-bye-bye, it’s just a little bit too much,” Gronk said on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” Wednesday.
“Yes, you can show her, maybe have her perform a song now since they’re hyping her up every single week but we want more football. Yes, it’s fine that you show her, but not every single play.”
Host Kay Adams made the argument that the game of football hasn’t undergone significant changes since the “Lover” hitmaker started attending her new beau’s games. She pointed out that Taylor Swift’s presence is contributing to increased viewership for the NFL.
Gronkowski emphasized the importance of focusing on the players and their celebrations during broadcasts rather than constant shots of Taylor Swift, expressing his belief that such coverage detracts from the players’ moments on the field.

He also shared his thoughts on Travis Kelce’s new relationship, stating that he is pleased to see the tight end “doing his thing” and deserving of both his on-field success and his off-field endeavors. Gronkowski praised Kelce’s impressive seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and his good looks, suggesting that he can have any lady he desires, possibly alluding to the “Cruel Summer” singer.
Gronkowski’s comments came after criticism of the NFL’s extensive broadcast coverage of Taylor Swift during games, with even Kelce himself mentioning the league might be going a bit overboard. In response, the NFL defended its approach, explaining that they adapt their bios and profile imagery to reflect cultural moments, such as the intersection of sports and entertainment, and that the coverage has received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans.
