Ric Flair with the figure four lock on NBA players!
Flair, renowned as one of the greatest professional wrestlers, is not only known for his wrestling achievements but also for his passion for sports.
Flair can often be spotted attending various sporting events across the country, frequently expressing his support for favorite teams and players through social media shoutouts.
However, Flair recently revealed that his interest in one sport is waning.
Expressing his thoughts to Fox News Digital about the NBA, Flair shared his disappointment with basketball players who resort to excessive complaining and whining.
“These basketball players that whine and b—-, it’s taken a lot of the sport away from me,” Flair told Fox News Digital about the NBA.
“They go to work hurt,” Flair said about pro wrestlers. “That’s what pisses me off today about these basketball players that stub their toe. No s–t. How do you think I feel about that knowing I wrestled six months after I broke my back in a f—ing airplane crash? ‘I got a torn thumbnail. Whoa, whoa, whoa.’”
He believes that this behavior detracts from the essence of the sport. Flair drew a parallel between such player conduct and the rigorous schedule endured by professional wrestlers, who often spend 300 or more days on the road.
He emphasized that wrestlers consistently perform even when injured, unlike basketball players who may opt for load management or take breaks due to minor injuries. Flair’s frustration further intensified when he explained that he wrestled just six months after surviving a devastating plane crash that left him with a broken back.
He finds it disheartening that basketball players sometimes complain about trivial injuries like stubbed toes, considering the immense hardships and physical strain endured by wrestlers of his generation.
While he acknowledges that the treatment wrestlers faced back then should never have happened, he believes that the current generation of wrestlers should still appreciate the sacrifices made by their predecessors.
In summary, Ric Flair, a legendary professional wrestler and ardent sports enthusiast, has shown a growing disillusionment with the NBA due to the perceived whining and lack of sacrifice displayed by some basketball players.
While acknowledging the hardships faced by wrestlers of his era, he urges today’s wrestlers to value and respect the sacrifices made by those who paved the way before them.
Ric Flair ain’t wrong.
