Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman addressed questions about the team’s playoff struggles while attending the Children’s Cancer Fund’s “A Knight to Remember” Gala on Friday night.
A three-time Super Bowl champion, Aikman was asked whether former Cowboys players are disheartened by the team’s recent lack of postseason success. He conceded that there is indeed frustration among the alumni over “America’s Team” not living up to its historic standards.
Aikman noted, “Well, I’ve heard their comments. I guess some of them are [frustrated]. We know who those people are as well. But I believe the people inside the organization want to win even more than those outside it. Everyone is passionate, and I get that. However, I genuinely think that every decision and performance is aimed at doing their best. There’s not much more to say on that.”

Lightening the mood, Aikman then quipped, “Hey, Dak, you’re up,” referring to Dak Prescott, who was also in attendance at the gala.
The underlying context is that the Cowboys haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since their 1995 season triumph. With the team facing another early playoff exit this January, losing embarrassingly in the Wild Card round to the Packers despite a strong 12-win regular season, frustration continues to mount among fans and former players alike.
