Did the Philadelphia Eagles make a pass at Russell Wilson last offseason?
According to a report from Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated, they did in fact make an offer.
However, Wilson exercised his no-trade clause and vetoed the deal which led to his trade to the Broncos.
The report states that Wilson also vetoed a deal to the Commanders.
Considering how the season ended up for the Eagles, they are likely glad that Wilson decided against playing in Philadelphia.
Jalen Hurts has become a star at the quarterback position and are in great shape to make a run at another NFC Conference Championship.
Wilson’s season with the Broncos was of course a disaster. There are hopes that new head coach Sean Payton can turn things around for Wilson and the Broncos. However, the trade the Seahawks made with Denver is currently very one-sided unless Wilson can dramatically improve under Payton.
It is unclear as to what the Seahawks were receiving from the Eagles in the aforementioned trade offer.
